Second medical opinion

doctor working on computer

A second opinion is an invaluable resource when faced with different treatment options for complicated health conditions. However, you may not have access to a trained professional because of your place of residence or reduced mobility.

Dr. Torregrosa offers the possibility of a remote second medical opinion consultation. He will work with you to recommend the treatment plan that best suits your case after reviewing your medical history and diagnostic tests.

Dr. Torregrosa can issue a second opinion for patients in any country in the world, and the report will be sent translated into English, Spanish, French, or German.

Diseases and treatments for which it is available

  • Any pathology related to general surgery, especially those related to hernias.
  • Complex eventrations and catastrophic hernias.
  • Anal problems: fissures, hemorrhoids, fistulas…
  • Benign and malignant breast disease.
  • Varicose veins and their different treatments.
  • Cancer and gastrointestinal tumors.
  • Laparoscopic surgery: indications.
  • Endocrine surgery: thyroid nodules, goiter, parathyroid…
  • Diseases of the gallbladder: stones, biliary sludge…
  • Resolution of sequels derived from surgery.
  • Time delay of surgical treatment.
  • Limitations that the surgical procedures can generate in your working life and leisure.
  • Alternative medical and/or surgical treatments.

In short, any kind of illness, disease, or question related to surgery requiring a second opinion.

The cost of a second medical opinion is 150.

Payment must be made after the application.

Please note

The second medical opinion service is private. Currently, it is not covered by health insurance.

The time frame is about 10 days for Spain, since medical information and payment confirmation are received, and 15 days if it is for another country.

If you decide you prefer a face-to-face consultation at any time during the process, you can call (0034) 637 690 853 or fill in the appointment form. This is not included in the second medical opinion service, but can be arranged separately.

How to get a second medical opinion

Within 72 hours, the team of Dr. Torregrosa will contact you and inform you about:
